Fatou
We had to create a website for a music album and I chose Fatoumata Diawara’s debut album Fatou from 2011. Fatoumata is originally from Mali and the album is Sung in the Malian language Wassoulou. Backing herself on guitar, Diawara explores themes of war, abandonment of children and female circumcision.
I wanted to create a website that allows listeners to see both the original and the translation side by side.
