“Many small people, who in many small places do many small things, can alter the face of the world.”
Muriel Raoux and Kani Alavi on the east side gallery in Berlin 1990.
For our comics course assignment we needed to create a story inspired by an historical event.
I chose the Berlin Wall, because I remembered how horrified I was when I first learned about it.
The fact that the wall was built overnight and thousands of families and friends were torn apart and completely separated for nearly two decades in a matter of hours was baffling to me. So I decided to tell the story of two people disconnected by the wall using the colors blue and red inspired by the sides.
